“We should get to a place where we never need to discuss gender issues, shouldn’t we be there already? But unfortunately we’re not”. That’s way, according to Roxana Mehran, Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Research and Clinical Trials at the Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York), we still need to talk about gender gap in cardiology. Talk about and act: Mehran is indeed one of the co-founder of the Women as One initiative, aimed at developing professional opportunities for female physicians.
